Holt Elementary School Partnership
For 30+ years, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa has partnered with Holt Elementary School in Holt, Alabama.
Through this Adopt-a-School partnership, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa provides both financial and volunteer support for programs at Holt Elementary. As an Adopt-A School partner, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa has a direct impact on the school community and has the opportunity to form quality relationships with the Holt community.
How We Support Holt

Financial Support
We raise funds to support Holt Elementary through our fundraisers. These funds have been used for everything from teacher development to buying new equipment for the gymnasium.
Pillar Store
Students earn points for displaying pillar character traits that they can exchange for prizes from the Pillar Store, which is stocked and managed by JLT. This program promotes positive behavior and character development.
Show Teachers Some Love
A big part of our mission of working with Holt Elementary is to directly uplift and support the incredible teachers. JLT hosts school supply drives to help stock classrooms. We recently volunteered for a duty-free lunch to monitor lunchrooms so teachers could have a break. We also love to show our gratitude to these educators with gifts on Teacher Appreciation Day.
Service Hours
We’re committed to providing volunteer service hours to support Holt Elementary, such as setting up and staffing the annual fall festival for students.
